Other Turnings: Spalted Beech Pumpkin

This piece of beech was more wormhole than wood and what wood there was wasn't wonderful. (I'll take alliteration for 500 please, Alex...)
Given as a Halloween ornament to my mother, this 4" hollowform was turned, then carved to look like a pumpkin. This is an example of HEAVILY spalted wood that was very close to being good for nothing else but kindling.
It's lid has an eccentric-turned stem of walnut.
